Craig Zilly:
After 4 years in the Navy, which included a stint as an announcer for Armed Force Radio on Guam, it was 1970 and Craig Zilly found himself in Canton, IL working as an announcer/salesman for WBYS radio. In 1973 an opportunity was presented to represent the Equitable Life. Since then, it has been nothing but insurance. For a number of years Craig did work weekends at WBYS just for a hobby and a little mad money, but it has been several years since he has been behind a microphone on radio.
Over the past 35 years in the Insurance business, Craig has totaled thousands of hours of insurance schooling. Professional designations include LUTCF and a Certificate in Life Insurance Planning from the American College. The State of Illinois requires 30 hours of continuing education every two years, but Craig has consistently exceeded that by 10-15 hours.
Over the past 38 years in Canton, Craig has been involved in many various extra-curricular activities. He has donated his time to the Canton Kiwanis, Fulton County Playhouse, United Way Board Member, Fulton County Fair, served on Administrative Board at his Church, and is just ending 6 years on the Canton Area Chamber of Commerce Board with 2 years as President. In addition he has served as Master of Ceremonies for the Canton Friendship Festival Queen Pageant and other events in the area.
